Landscapes
Zen Garden

A space designed and constructed in accordance with traditional Zen Buddhist principles, aiming to create for the onlooker a feeling of solitude, conducive to meditation.

Mountains, valleys, waterfalls, trees and rivers are all represented in the Zen belief that even the smallest space can contain a microcosm of the vast universe.

The five rock arrangement is symbolic of the Buddhist essentials, 'Benevolence' and 'Justice' (tallest rocks on both sides of the stone bridge), 'Intelligence' (flat rock), 'Confidence' (isolated, reclining rock) and 'Courtesy' (far right of display).
